Unpacking Your Family Baggage:

How Past Family Dynamics Affect Your Current Relationships

Register now for this outstanding opportunity to improve your relationships within your family and friendship circles.  We start Monday, September 17th and go for eight weeks.  Child care will be provided, but we need to know very soon the number and ages of children that will need care.  Everyone who hears about the seminar expresses interest in coming—share it with your neighbors and friends!  Brochures are available in the narthex.

Doyle Johnson, counselor at Champlin Park High School, will show us how emotional systems found in our families of origin create lasting patterns that impact communication styles, how we establishing and maintaining boundaries, and functional generational growth and development, all from a Christian perspective. The course will give insight into current relational patterns and help you understand each others’ system. Work with your spouse in a safe environment to uncover things that affect you and your family.  These are not therapy sessions, but the information is the same as you might get from a family counselor at $150 per hour.

Doyle Johnson spent 12 years in youth ministry before coming to Champlin Park in 1997. He has an undergraduate degree in theology, a masters in counseling psychology and a post-masters in educational leadership.  He is a gifted teacher and counselor.  Doyle has been giving family seminars since 1984 and is excited to share his expertise with us.

The seminar will be held Mondays, September 17-November 5, 2007, from 7:00-8:15 PM.  There will be a modest fee.  Child care will be provided as needed.  Plan now to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity!  Brochures will be available soon for you to share with friends and neighbors.
